Welcome to Time Buckets
A simple way to structure your day. Instead of endless to-do lists, you work in time buckets — named blocks of time with their own tasks.
Create your buckets
Tap + New bucket to create a time block. Give it a name like "Morning routine" or "Work time", choose which days it runs, set a start and end time, and pick a colour.
+ New bucket
Add tasks to each bucket
Open any bucket and add tasks — things you do in that block of time. They repeat every day, so you only set them up once.
Add a task...
Day view & Now view
Day view shows all your buckets for today. Now view shows just your current bucket and anything left over from earlier. Tap a task to tick it off.
Tasks uncheck automatically
By default, tasks uncheck at midnight so you start fresh each day. You can change the reset time — or turn it off and use Uncheck tasks yourself — in Settings.
Your data stays on your device
No account. No server. No AI. Everything is stored in your browser only — I can't see any of it. Use Settings → Copy buckets link to transfer to another device.
You're ready!
Start by tapping + New bucket to create your first time block. If you need help, tap the ? button at any time.

Getting started
1
Create your buckets
Tap + New bucket to create your first time bucket. Give it a name, choose which days it runs, set a time slot, and pick a colour and icon. Buckets are blocks of time — not individual tasks.

Found in the bottom right corner
2
Add tasks to each bucket
Tap any bucket card to open it. Add tasks one by one, or use Paste tasks and paste a list — one per line. Tasks live inside buckets and repeat every day.

3
Tick off tasks as you go
In Day view, tap a task directly on the card. In Now view, you'll see just your current bucket and any leftover tasks from earlier. At the end of the day, tap Uncheck tasks to start fresh.

Set up your week pattern
If your week varies — shift work, school holidays, alternating custody — go to Alternate weeks in Settings. Set up to 4 different week patterns and name them.
Settings → Set alternate weeks
5
Use it on another device
In Settings, tap Copy buckets link. Open that link on your other device and confirm import — everything transfers automatically.

FAQs
Do my tasks reset automatically each day?
By default, yes — tasks uncheck automatically at midnight. You can change the reset time in Settings → Auto-reset tasks, choosing any hour that suits you. If you'd rather reset manually (useful for shift workers or irregular schedules), set it to Don't reset and use the Uncheck tasks button at the bottom of the page whenever you're ready to start fresh.
What's the difference between Day view and Now view?
Day view shows all your buckets for today at once. Now view focuses on your current bucket only, plus any unfinished tasks from earlier buckets — so you always know exactly what to do right now.
Can I have different buckets on different days?
Yes — when creating or editing a bucket, select which days of the week it appears. You can also set different start and end times per day by toggling Different times on different days.
What is the Alternate weeks for?
It's for people whose weeks aren't all the same — shift workers, parents with alternating custody arrangements, or anyone with a rotating schedule. Set up up to 4 different week patterns, name them, and set a cycle so the app automatically knows which week you're on.
My buckets disappeared after switching devices — what happened?
Buckets are stored in your browser's local storage, which is device and browser specific. Use Copy buckets to generate a link and open it on your new device to transfer everything across.
Can I reorder tasks?
Yes — open a bucket and drag the ⠿ handle on the left of any task to move it up or down.
Is my data private? Can anyone see it?
Yes, completely private. Time Buckets runs entirely in your browser — there's no account, no server, and no AI. Your data is stored only on your device using local storage. Nothing is sent anywhere, and I can't see any of it. Questions? Email amanda@unmuddled.co.
What does "Fade past buckets" do?
In Day view, buckets whose end time has passed are faded out so you can see at a glance where you are in your day. Toggle it off in Settings if you'd prefer everything at full opacity.
